Failing to Learn from Past Mistakes
By ignoring previous terrorist threats, we let the Twin Towers evaporate into history. By refusing to fire under-performing bureaucrats, we allowed post-Katrina chaos and the BP oil disaster to bring us to our knees. Ditto with the un-regulated banking industry and the resulting financial melt-down that nearly ruined the nation.
While mobs with pilfered guns owned the streets during The Hurricane, President Bush comforted incompetent bureaucrats by muttering just one mangled sentence: “Heckuva job, Brownie!”
Because oil rig workers were buddies with the bureaucrats who were supposed to monitor them, workers began to neglect their duties – even to the point of using crystal meth and watching pornography on the job – and a subsequent 4.9 million barrels of oil swept into the sea.
